Dreamtime is Tourism Australia’s signature business events showcase. Over 100 international buyers and media were hosted in Adelaide for two days to participate in business meetings and activities before travelling further afield to experience what the rest of Australia has to offer.
Belle Laide Events produced two events for Tourism Australia. For the business session a truly unique meeting space was designed by the Belle Laide team. Traditional floor plans were abandoned in favour of creating a landscape within the room, which delegates could navigate between their appointments. A visual journey was created using spatial design, lighting states, evocative graphics and custom created soundscapes which worked together to redefine the entire ‘meeting’ experience.
Guests were welcomed into the darkened halls of the Adelaide Convention Centre to the pre-dawn sounds of the Australian bush. In a low-lit setting the official opening got underway. A powerful performance piece unravelled under darkness, as the sun began to rise from behind the stage and the lighting state within the great halls lifted to beautiful sunrise hues, revealing the entire Dreamtime Business session landscape.
Delegates experienced an emotive Welcome to Country carried out by a local Aboriginal Elder and Indigenous performers, creating a very special opening to Dreamtime 2015.
Catering by the Adelaide Convention Centre was given a theatrical twist for both morning and afternoon tea. Lunch showcased local produce and was a highlight of the day for guests.
To conclude their time in Adelaide a Showcase Dinner was held at the National Wine Centre. Focusing on the warmth and hospitality of the Adelaide people the event was centered around the idea of ‘welcome to our home’. Quintessentially South Australian people, produce and stories were the focus of the evening.
Every detail was considered and personal touches were a defining feature of the night. Guests were greeted and opened individual letterboxes with a personalised welcome note and gift. Inside guests enjoyed high quality South Australian produce while seated under an impressive 16m Australian floral installation.
Through a series of custom created video pieces, guests were given the opportunity to meet three different South Australian personalities from the food and wine industry, whose stories and produce were woven into the fabric of the event.
The event was a huge success for Tourism Australia with delegate feedback at an all time high.
