Excited to spotlight an amazing event by Belle Laide Events in our latest Blog, check it out!
What better way to showcase a destination than to get nearly 600 travel agents and wholesalers from 38 countries in the one room, shut the door, indulge them with sensational food and drink in a magnificent setting and let the collaboration flow? That’s exactly what happened at the Tourism Victoria – Australian Tourism Exchange 2015.
Held in Melbourne for the first time since 2009, the networking event was designed to highlight the city as one of the world’s premier tourist destinations. Patrons were treated to an extensive presentation of the Victorian capital as the fabulous hub of culture, dining and shopping that it is. Capitalising on Melbourne’s ranking as one of the most liveable cities in the world, the event also showcased the city as the gateway to rest of Victoria, and a bucket list destination for both Australians and overseas travellers.
Belle Laide Events created a concept for the event which was “Expect The Unexpected in Melbourne”. Guests arrived to a static gallery-style event space, where concierges asked them to choose an entrance by flipping a custom made token. Guests could either enter via the Federation Court or via The Great Hall.
Canapés and drinks were served on arrival. All menu items were locally sourced by Peter Rowland Catering. The wines and craft beers were provided by a variety of Victorian wineries and breweries.
Large black and white sets featured iconic photographic imagery of Melbourne venues such as the Queen Victoria Market, Chinatown and Hidden Laneways.
All formalities were delivered via video displayed on large screens around the venue. After the last speech the real magic started.
Guests worked their around the room from the colourful Asian food station, to the speakeasy laneway bar, a charcuterie and a donut station replicating the Queen Victoria Market.
Other impressive food stations included trays stacked with oysters, fresh seafood and a blini station.
The most impressive moment of the night was when guests were invited to take a meringue from the Charlie Buckett meringue wall and create an Eton Mess with cream and fruit.

Happy Friday event peeps! Got a quick one for you for the end the week, hope it offers some inspiration for your upcoming events!
I Just love everything about this exclusive event styled by the talented Decorative Events Team.
The luncheon event was for 24 elite businessmen, hosted at the Hotel Centennial in Woollahra. Its been well styled to work with the audience however still has the softness of flowers and elegance to it.
A palette of deep burgundies, dark brown leather and touches of copper complimented the masculinity and moodiness of the venue and created a sense of exclusivity.
DE&E’s in-house Calligrapher scrawled each of the 24 Gentlemen’s names on vintage luggage labels, to enhance personalisation and distinction. Custom printed menus were produced on timber plywood, and hand-dipped copper chess pieces were used to further customisation and personified the deluxe nature of the event.
P.S. If you have any events you need styled by the guys over at Decorative Events, let us know, we can get you a special VIP price 🙂

Stumbled across this amazing event recently – an event to raise funds for Centennial Parklands Foundation for the Ian Potter Children’s Wild Play Garden within Centennial Park.
Now, the first thing that caught my eye was the venue provided by Samikata Tipi Events, am loving all things Tipi at the moment! The party was set amongst the trees and tipis at the Residences at the Paddington Gates in Centennial Park. Styled by the ever so talented Georgie from After the Rock , this party was set for success! With an a-list guest list and flowing drinks and fine food, this was a must attend event. I love that the venue was created for the event, by using a Tipi. I think these Tipi’s are great, maybe even for a corporate conference, thinking outside the box when it comes to your event venue.

Wildplay Accessories that guests could purchase on the night to added a little ‘wild’ to their outfits – from masks and animal tails, to flashing bracelets and feather headpieces. A great way to get guests in theme on the night of an event, as people are often embarrassed to dress up prior. This, however this makes for a fun option on the night, whatever the theme.
To compliment the event setting, the catering team from Urban Purveyor Group (Sake, Ananas, Lowenbrau Keller, The Cut, The Argyle and Swine & Co) did a seriously good job. There is no better way to cater for a stand up cocktail party than providing guests with a pig on the spit, a campfire serving truffle mac & cheese, Sake Sashimi station and the most incredible liquid nitrogen influenced desserts, and as something truly special – all the head chefs from each restaurant were there to cook for the WildPlay guests.
The other thing I absolutely loved about this event was the Tiffany and Co sponsored key rings as a gift with the raffle ticket purchase. Five necklaces were won on the night from the raffle (the incredible actress Marta Dusseldorp bought wit and beauty to the drawing of the raffle). This just oozes class and complements everything about this fabulous event.
No party is complete without a photo booth, guests can never get enough of these. I am all about bringing something new to an event, however you can’t argue with the classics! Everyone loves a good photo! In an Instant supplied this interactive photo booth.
The epic floral installations at the event were constructed by Maggie May Flowers

Sponsors play a huge part in a Fundraising event and for this event this included Urban Purveyor Group The Residences Tiffany & co, Samikata Teepee’s, Glenfiddich (cocktail bar), Arvo and Vale Ale Beer, Santa Vittoria Water, Pommery and Well and Glasso Ceramics. All suppliers offered generous discounts to be involved in the event also.
Hope this event inspires you for your next event x
