Special Event
November 20th, 2015 by Alisa Angell
This year’s race that stops the nation kicked off with show stopping Spring Racing Marquee events that really put the luxe in luxury. Our Director Sam got to experience the Bird Cage this year first hand, and this was her pick of the day!
Lexus Marquee (The Big Group)
The luxury car brand continues its love affair with opulence and fine attention to extravagant detail. The “Nest” covering the structure used 100 kilometres of recycled wire and took more than 4000 hours to create! Sustainable designer Joost Bakker worked tirelessly on a ceiling installation of 5000 hanging tulip bulbs. Guests were dazzled and delighted from above, while a dramatic roaming wall of paper butterflies carefully designed by Georgie Seccull creates an air of beauty and serenity.
Guests dined on a gastronomic extravaganza compliments of The Big Group including a skewer of steak and chips with Béarnaise sauce, and Dan Hong’s chicken katsu banh mi burger, and wontons in three flavour.
